Ever since I was a kid I’ve had a pretty weak immune system, it’s nothing major, but I get sick more than the average person. Just this year I’ve been too sick to function normally at least 5 times, which has normally meant doctor visits, antibiotics, and a lot of rest. Each time that happens the most frustrating part for me is the time I lose to be productive. I find myself stressing out way too much when I feel like I’m starting to get sick, because I fear it will lead to another dreary week spent getting better.

Unfortunately Lila seems to have gotten my immune system as well, so since we’re both pretty fragile it’s extra important to us to make sure we have a plan in place for when we need real medical help. There’s nothing worse than needing to get some care and not knowing where you can go, who you can trust, or how much it’s all going to cost you.

Just recently we were out of town for the weekend and I got a sore throat and a cough, so from our hotel room I used Amwell to connect with a Doctor from my smartphone and essentially have a virtual visit with him. After consulting with me he was able to send a prescription to the local pharmacy and within about an hour from when I called I was picking up the medicine I needed. It was such a relief to be able to continue our trip and have the care I needed to start getting better rather than getting worse. I wouldn’t have known where to begin to get help in a different city and on a weekend.

Now that we started using the Amwell app things have become so much simpler for us, whether we just need help from home or even if we are traveling. Our schedules are always so full between events, family, activities, and so on that it makes a huge difference to have Amwell in our back pocket. The days of worrying about a small cough turning into something worse over the weekend for fear of not being able to see the doctor until Monday are over now, so we don’t have to stress about little sniffles.

Amwell is a 24/7 resource so you won’t have to worry about closing times or holidays. You can use the service for so many things like fevers, allergies, UTI’s, stomach bugs, coughs, colds, and more. Best of all they’ve made it incredibly simple and easy to connect with the care you need from wherever you are.

Amwell was kind enough to offer 50% off a $69 urgent care visit for my readers with coupon code: helloceleste
