Hotel Spotlight: Town And Country San Diego

This week we stayed at the Town and Country Resort in San Diego. We love visiting San Diego a few times a year and this trip was long overdue. We normally stay beachfront, but this hotel was just a couple miles inland and too good to pass up. Everything was recently renovated and the pool area looked amazing. Everything from the photos is even better in person. We officially are making this a must stay place when  down in San Diego.

Around The Grounds:

This hotel offers so much more than just an incredible ambiance. There was something to do or a new way to relax at every turn. We were able to have a 5 star vacation without ever getting in our car.  Here are some amazing things you will find around the grounds:

  • Room service
  • Sand volleyball court
  • Ping pong table
  • Fire pits
  • Swinging chairs
  • Hammocks
  • Grass areas

Pool Area:

The pool area here is amazing! The water in the main pool is WARM! How amazing is that? During our stay it was May Gray but we didn’t even mind because using the pool was such delightful experience. It also made night swimming enjoyable as well.

The pool area here  consists of 4 separate pools:

Main Pool (3ft 6inches deep)

Water Slide (3ft 6inches deep)

Kid Pool (1 foot deep)

Jacuzzi (3ft 6inches deep)

Also featured in the delightful pool area is complimentary spa water. When we were there the flavors were lemon and mint. I loved both and it was very refreshing for after the jacuzzi.

We had a cabana on Tuesday and it was such a fun experience. It came with a fruit platter and really enhanced our stay getting to have a sun cover to keep us out of the sun while eating or drinking. I did tons of lounging and even work emails while Jake and Lila swam.

The restaurant by the pool is called Lapper and it will be open very soon. Right now Poolside dining is available from Lap It Up. We ordered lunch from here on Tuesday and it was great. Our waiter took such good care of us and made sure our drinks were always full.

Places To Eat:

The Market – Maybe you want to grab some goodies for an outdoor picnic or savor a quick treat in between meetings. MRKT offers gourmet on-the-go, including wood-fired pizza, salads, sandwiches and desserts. Always fresh and always ready when you need it. Before heading out for a day of adventures, grab locally roasted coffee, fresh-from-the-oven pastries, and breakfast sandwiches and burritos.

In Room Dining – Is breakfast in bed your favorite meal? Then you’re in luck. Enjoy delicious dining options in the comfort of your guest room or suite. Choose from breakfast favorites, midday snacks and late-night dishes to satisfy your cravings day or night.

Lap It Up – It’s true: You can taste the sunshine. Inside, outside or poolside. Bask in breezy bites and local draft brews, while kids chow down on favorites. For a cool treat, try a crisp blended drink or refreshing cocktail right from your poolside perch. There’s no better place to linger, lounge, and lap it up.

Lapper(coming soon) Say cheers to good friends and good times. From street tacos, sandwiches and wings to sliders, nachos and hot dogs, Lapper deliciously hits the spot. Wash it all down with local craft beer on draft, while watching your favorite sports team head to victory. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, this lively hangout spot is a sure-bet winner.

Monkey Bar – It’s time to start some monkey business! Share small plates and wood-fired flatbreads around the fire pits.  Try the Drunken Monkey and other inventive drinks and cocktails. Sip, socialize and toast to the escapades ahead.

Arlo – A new chef-driven restaurant in San Diego. ARLO is a celebration of San Diego lifestyle and culinary culture serving scratch-made dishes using fresh local ingredients and flavor without borders. The fun, fresh, quirky environment is highlighted by a sweeping outdoor patio, swaying palm trees and a giant outdoor fireplace. Rounding out the experience is an inventive cocktail program, extensive wine list and local craft beer on tap. ARLO also offers plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, supporting proper social distancing.
